Hiking holiday in the Auvergne region
Our accommodation in Le Mont-Dore offers endless hiking posibilities. The originally volcanic Sancy plateau is a true paradise for hikers. A unique location with large open spaces, rough nature and an extremely diverse landscape, fauna and flora. For instance, between May and October 40 different orchid species can be found in this part of the Auvergne region.
In this diverse environment over 400 miles of sign posted hiking trails are waiting for you. From short but never the less beautiful routes for the whole family to more challenging day trips. The GR4 and the GR30 are only a few kilometers away from Les Camélias and the GR4E even runs along our garden.
Tip: think of Les Camélias during autumn. The autumn colours are just fantastic.
We can advise you about the different possibilities and have guidebooks, maps and GPS tracks available. If you do not have a GPS yourself, you can rent one at Les Camélias.
