As a result of its location at 1,050 metres above sea level Le Mont-Dore is for French people a well known spa town. In the thermal baths of Le Mont-Dore treatments for rheumatism and respiratory are carried out as a result of a medical referral.
The spa can also be used without a medical referral with various possibilities to use the different thermal baths and showers.
The thermal baths are located at about 350 m from Les Camélias. During the bathing season a free bus service is available to take those who are taking a cure to and from the Thermal centre. The bus stops almost in front of Les Camélias.
The Thermal Bath-building is in the centre of the village, there where 8 thermal wells surface. The Thermal Bath-building is build in neo-Byzantine style and is a historical monument. Guided tours of the thermal baths give you the chance to see this building.
