Le Mont-Dore is also a great place to be in wintertime. Just think of skiing on a volcano, cross country skiing and snowshoeing.
Le Mont-Dore is a lovely place to be after skiing relaxing in numerous cafés and restaurants. During wintertime many activities are put on, on January 24 the Trial hivernal du Sancy is being organised; a 12,5 or 19 mile running competition and from February 12 until February 20 the Sancy Snow Jazz Festival will take place.
Les Camélias has a heated storage room for winter sport equipment. There are several places in Le Mont-Dore where skies, cross country materials and raquettes (for snowshoeing) can be hired.
